Barring an unforeseen emergency, you must cancel any tutoring session at least 24 hours before the session begins.
Failure to cancel on time will result in a $30 late cancellation fee.
The tutor is only obligated to wait for a student for 15 minutes. If a student shows up late, the session will be charged based on the scheduled start time.
If the student does not show on the day of the session with no explanation or contact, a no-show fee of $60 will be assessed.
2 no-shows, or 3 same day cancellations in a row will result in the student being dropped.
An “unforeseen emergency” includes,
but is not limited to:
- The student or an immediate family member was taken to the hospital in the last 24 hours
- A recent, sudden death in the family
- The internet is not working
- Catastrophic weather
While an unforeseen emergency will allow cancellation within 24 hours of the lesson, lack of contact will still result in the no-show fee being assessed. If an emergency has happened, you must let the tutor know as soon as you are able to avoid the no-show fee.
The final decision on what qualifies as an “unforeseen emergency” lies with the tutor.
