Math and Science have always been my favorite subjects at school. To me, a well-balanced math equation feels like poetry and science feels like second nature. My friends started asking me for help with their homework somewhere around the 9th grade. I’ve been tutoring ever since.
After I tutored my way through Math, Physics, and Aerospace Engineering degrees, I spent a few years working in the industry as a systems engineer.
For a while, I was teaching GED courses at night while doing systems analysis during the day. I was exhausted and felt it was time for a change of pace. So I got a teaching certificate.
I love teaching math. It is so much fun to see students light up as they finally understand the puzzle in front of them. There is nothing quite like seeing a child learn the language of math. It was a lot of fun, and I taught high school math for 3 years.
Why did I stop? Well, I didn’t stop, I pivoted.
You see, in a classroom, I can only help 300 students per year. Online I can try to help a whole lot more.
My mission is to help everyone get the education they want and deserve.
Everyone deserves a chance to learn and truly understand the universal language of math. But learning it in a classroom setting (or in a virtual classroom) can be a challenge– especially if you have learning difficulties. There simply isn’t enough help to go around. Finding help for math can be especially hard.
We don’t teach students how to study math or science. And we certainly don’t teach the subject in a way to help students with learning difficulties. Fortunately, that is my specialty and the focus of my teaching degree– helping students understand the wonders of math and science regardless of any learning difficulties they may face.
Feel free to drop me a line if you need anything! I would love to hear from you.
